Patent and copyright law are routinely twisted to establish monopolies. Amazon's patent on one-click checkout for online stores is one example. It's illegal for your online customers to checkout with a single click, unless you have licensed the idea from Amazon. Another example is Blackboard's patent on web based learning management systems. Apparently, only one company should be able to deliver training online. Competition has suddenly become illegal.

Thermacube opposes this disturbing trend by publishing as much code as possible under a "copyleft" license.
